Nested view: Annotating postings visually with state

Currently the thread outline gives the user two visual information snippets about the postings via colour:

• The read/unread state of the posting
• Whether the posting is written by the user herself.

The main structure in Nested View isn't the thread outline but the structure of the posting themselves. The unread state of postings and the information of being one's own posting is missing and should be repeated.

Possibilities for signaling Unread state:

• Muted colours like in the thread outline. On the other hand that could impact readability.
• A blue dot left of the posting, a system convention in Mac OS X for „unread thing“.
• A blue outline on the left border, somewhat like the left border on blockquotes, only looking livelier by using the more vibrant blue.

Signaling whether the user written the posting herself should be like in the thread outline: by colouring her name.
