There is no hotkey to set in services on macOS. Looking under Services/general shows nothing.

'Vim Anywhere' option also missing for me under System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services after install.

Install output:

./install

Is it possible that you did not install macvim first? I had kind of the opposite where I installed macvim and then didn't do the follow-on curl installation line. After that I was golden.

Not in my case. I'd already been using Macvim for some time before trying vim-anywhere
