Update Bounce Email Text
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. As a resident applying to programs, I receive a few different types of autogenerated emails ("You applied to a program!" "Your status has changed"). If I reply to any of the autogenerated emails, I get an error message, attached.
Describe the solution you'd like Would it be possible to customize that error message so that it isn't so... harsh?
Additional context It would be helpful if the error message said something like:
"Alert: Your message was not delivered because this account is for sending messages only. If you have questions about this program, please visit www.seattle.gov/affordable. If you have technical questions about CiviForm, please contact [email protected].
Current message attached.
Done when The alert message informs residents that their message was not received and helps direct them to the appropriate channels for follow-up.
We do not have the ability to change the response text. We can set the reply to field to a different email. @elisekalstad would that solve this issue for you?
Cassandra is correct. The error message is generated from the mail server and the email client interprets that reply and displays "Message Blocked". The best solution is to have an auto responder on [email protected] that says something like, "This mailbox isn't checked. Please click here to check your application status. If you need more help, please check with the program admins at this email address / phone number."
In the future if we find that we need to have different "Reply to:" email addresses for different programs, we could consider adding a "Reply to:" field.
I just sent an email and got the same bounce message as well. Here is the applicable header: The response from the remote server was: 550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied. AS(201806281) [DM3GCC02FT002.eop-gcc02.prod.protection.outlook.com]
