Server is loading or failed to load - Cloudflare URL visual issue

Open alberttheprince opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

What happened?

Using cloudflare, we have created an SRV record for our server. Users are able to successfully load into the server using connect in the F8 console with the domain but I am being presented with the follow message while connecting.

Additionally, when looking at past servers to connect it displays the server offline:

This was mentioned here as well, but closed with no response from these reports:

https://github.com/citizenfx/fivem/issues/2655 https://github.com/citizenfx/fivem/issues/2280#issuecomment-1932755473

Expected result

Display Correct Server title/info and connect to the server without error messages.

Reproduction steps

  1. Use cloudflare
  2. Attempt to connect through the address with a correctly set up SVR
  3. experience the issue explained above

I'm also getting the same issue on my domain., doesn't even let you join the server -

Gives this error message with an unrelated IP to mine looks to be a cloudflare one, Used this guide from CFX Forums to set this up; https://forum.cfx.re/t/guide-configure-a-cloudflare-proxy-for-your-fivem-server/5153018

I should also add as I'm overwriting the serverlist endpoint that connects no issue when doing it through there its only when using the f8 connect command

You cannot proxy the URL the SVR record points to. Cloudflare doesn't support any ports other than normal TCP ports when proxied.

Edit: Also not sure what the intent of this is. Using cloudflare as a DNS provider I assume? Or a false sense of security. You will only get a security benefit's for the TCP stack but it will do nothing to help your UDP stack. The originating IP is still exposed when the client sends and receives UDP packets.

Bumping this. Is this still an issue? Experiencing this exact issue as well with port 30121. However, people can connect using the play.link.com but it just says "Server is loading or failed to load (https://play.link.com:30120/)"
