Client crash in specific area of the map

Open MarcusPred opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

What happened?

There is a hotspot for crashes between Valentine and Flatneck station. Our research shows that it is not a script or MLO related crash, as it happens on a clean server with no resources.

Over the past few days, we have gathered crashdata and have a realtime map with hotspots related to this area, which can be easily reproduced by just running into this area. image

The crash leaves no crashdump, the client just freezes.

On the server, the client will have timed out. Server->client connection timed out. Last seen 36198 msec ago.

Expected result

The client should not have crashed.

Reproduction steps

  1. Connect to a server, with or without resources
  2. Go to the intersection close to the hotspot as shown on the image above, and run towards the hotspot
  3. The client will freeze, and after a few seconds, the client will have timed out on the server

This is likely related to https://forum.cfx.re/t/heartlands-world-origin-client-freeze-when-moving-quickly/5182328

The coordinates this is at is 0, 0, 0

this still occurs on many servers, my theory is, the issue occurs with anything to do with entities created when fails , since it falls back to coords 0 0 0, sometimes going under the map I see entities spawned right at the exact position which could cause a crash possibly but thats just my theory

I still have to test something with propsets creation, I noticed there is always one at the coords 0 ,0 ,0 event though is created in another place. its like duplicating wich could also lead to issues on that place

will try to replicate this soon.

if anyone has a crash dump please post here if you have crashed at this exact location.

[OFFTOPIC]

@MarcusPred, what do you use to generate those heatmaps? if that's something we could use for our FiveM community it might help narrow down a few crashes

I save crashpositions to a database, and generate a heatmap using leaflet
