Container-title is set to short and shows short format for journal in example but not in document in word
Hi again!
I am having an issue where the container-title is set to "short" in the CSL editor and shows the short format for the journal in the example, but when I save my citation style then run it in word, the majority of journal styles are not abbreviated in my document.
Has anyone had this issue previously or know how to resolve it?
Thank you!
Nikki
Which reference manager?
Mendeley
Just talked with Mendeley's help line...
Journal name abbreviation is only available on the old Mendeley desktop ( & old Wordplugin). As of now, this feature is currently in development. Currently, we do not have an exact date (on when it will be available) but it will be in the near future & update. (for Windows users) In case you still want to use/try the old Mendeley desktop, you may install it through this download link. Once installed, launch Mendeley desktop and log in. Click the Tools button and choose install MS Word plugin.
I'm not unbiased here, but you should just switch to Zotero. Mendeley's rollout of their "Mendeley Cite" is an insult to its users. We can't get a hold of anyone doing actual dev work there anymore either, so anything Mendeley related, we're just guessing
Yeah honestly I'm thinking about switching softwares for sure - agreed that its an insult - I don't know why they'll release an incomplete newer version.
