When opening a website with multimedia content using Firefox browser, an error pop-up saying "The gmpopenh264 plugin has crashed". Is this a known issue?

I haven't seen anything like it. You're better off reporting it at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org than here though.

Managed to recreate it when opening YouTube. Updating everything and restarting worked.

What do you mean "update everything"? My system is up to date and I can still reliably crash Firefox.
