Unsent messages (due to bad connection) not indicated/ saved
Describe the bug
Hard to reproduce, but something I've noticed a few times (and have lost several very long messages to this bug 😒). Basically when my internet connection is spotty (especially when changing networks) and I close Cinny messages that I think have been sent disappear the next time I open Cinny
Reproduction
- Have a bad internet connection
- Send messages to friend
- Close cinny
- Open cinny, to find the message has disappeared
Expected behavior
Either messages that haven't actually left my device yet should be indicated with something like a ⚠ OR they need to be saved locally to be tried again after Cinny is restarted and a connection is available
Platform and versions
1. Arch Linux
2. N/A
3. 4.3.0
4. fairydust.space
Additional context
No response
I realised I probably opened this issue on the wrong repo. This has been happening with the cinny-desktop client. I don't use cinny.in in my web browser. Re-opened here: https://github.com/cinnyapp/cinny-desktop/issues/436
Do you have this problem with sending like attachments like pictures or video files because I do.
I don't have that problem with nheko, it will let me upload any file up to my media size limit.
In Cinny If the file is about 3-4MB or bigger then it fails with "MatrixError: Unknown message", nothing in console though. The upload to /upload just times out in network tab.
I've had this happen recently with regular text messages. Message size does not seems to be the problem, because it happens also with short ones.
