Anyone did this project attaching to the PI a router with 3G SIM card?

Nowadays you can get (at least in my country Italy) 40GB SIM card for 6 Euro/month. I was thinking of doing this project but instead of WiFi, using a 3G SIM card with a modem connected to the PI.

Anyone did this?

Energy consuption of such a solution?
