Egress gateway for IPv6
The egress gateway feature is only supported for IPv4 for now. Implementing the same for IPv6 connections would require support for BPF-based IPv6 masquerading (cf. https://github.com/cilium/cilium/issues/14350).
@pchaigno I have done few good-first-issues. I would like to take this issue but I might need help on how to get started with it.
@h3llix This is blocked on https://github.com/cilium/cilium/issues/14350.
@pchaigno Any other issue that I can take?
@h3llix You can either take another good first issue, or dig through the list of unassigned issues. Are you looking to contribute on some particular component/feature?
This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs.
Is this in the roadmap? Or what cilium release would include this feature? @pchaigno
Just curious if this issue with v6 support will be on a roadmap or released soon?
The blocker issue (IPv6 BPF masquerading) has been solved, so it is possible to work on this now. Although it's unlikely that this will make it to 1.15.
Any news here?
Bump. This would be a great add for my dual stack clusters.
Can we have an update on this if it is going to be on the roadmap? or at least what is the size of the task to maybe try to contribute.
