'Remove Featured Artists' function does not work with library tracks, albums and playlists

Describe the Bug

I have the 'Remove Featured Artists' setting turned on to remove featured artists, only keeping the first artist when scrobbling to last.fm

This setting works perfectly for non-library albums or when I start an album simply just by searching for it and starting non-library version.

But when I start to play from an album in my library, or start a track from any playlists from the sidebar (basically playlists in my library) the same 'Remove Featured Artists' function doesn't work.

Steps to Reproduce

Simple example with an Oklou track Image

First play is from the album version not in my library (featured artist Bladee is removed). Second play is from the exact same album but starting from my library (featured artist is still there).

Anything else?

Update:

I tested all of the following versions and all of them shows the same issue/bug:

  • Cider 3 RC on mac OS
  • Cider 3 final release on mac OS
  • Cider 3 final release on Windows

And based on cider-chat channel on Discord there are other users who experienced the same thing just now.

Hi,

the issue still persists on Cider Version 3.0.5 (PTB 187) and based on Cider Discord other people are experiencing the same issue.

Running RC18, the issue is still there for me for in-library albums, playlists, anything in my library saved.

Fixed in 3.1, should be available in the next release candidate. (RC22)

Hi,

as far as I saw RC22 is out. Installed it today, no change: every song which is in my library (either in my saved playlists, or saved albums) is still scrobbling with featured artist included.

My settings are the following:
