Yea, agreed on all counts that this isn't an immediate priority, and that @brandonreid 's proposal looks really clean to me.
Interesting; this makes sense to me as a request. However, I'm genuinely not sure that it's reasonable for us to expand the surface area of our interface to support it....

I looked back into this and it turns out that PostgreSQL sorts the keys in JSON columns to optimize lookups, so even though `pydantic` preserves order the database layer doesn't....
