Game transfer stuck on 0%
Hi,
I have a PI model 3a+ now I know not strictly supported but if I try with an external USB it detects the eth device ok says the Chihiro net dimms are online if I try to send a game it just hangs on 0% and does nothing. So, I tried connecting via wifi only with the Chihiro netdimms on the that network. again it says they are online ok but same thing happens it hangs on 0% and the Chihiro still says looking for network. Using the windows transfer game executable everything works ok. I had a look at the logs but they are all empty? is there anywhere I can look of manually send using the piforce tools? I'm not sure of syntax or location......
Thanks
Steve
What version of WiPi are you running? the logs should appear in /var/log - open the netdimm_send.log file and post the contents please
Version 6.1-7......I think I spot whats going on here....this is the contents of netdimm log: 2022-04-22 15:00:31,134 Game requested is 2022-04-22 15:00:31,135

and dmesg shows:

So looks like maybe the 512mb memory on the model 3a+ isnt enough?
Thanks
Steve
You can try adjusting the GPU memory settings in config txt, gpu_mem=64 might work?
Thanks I think its default of 64mb on 512gb systems anyway, I tried the lowest permissible 16mb its still the same problem, its a shame the tools seem to spool the rom into memory.
You could use a larger SD card, extend the rootfs and add a swap file? or better, use an external USB pen drive for a swap? space is really tight in the rootfs, only around 330MB free
It is actually on a larger SD card I will try that to be fair I did toy with the idea of creating a scratch to see if it worked as I reckon would probably only need 200mb or so...
Did you have any luck getting this to work?
I haven't had a chance to have a crack it yet real life responsibilities get in the way :( but when I do I will let you know.
