Adding USB Hdd crashes pi - noob

Hi

Any help is really appreciated. I’m following the Pi3 dummies guide and all is great. Except when I change the music path to a usb hard drive. When I reboot Pi goes into emergency console. I’ve made sure I’ve followed the guide exactly. Could it be something else that’s causing the problem? Cheers and thank you for the brilliant software
