Moving an expanded attachment to Stage Manager traps it there

Any demonstrating screen recording I grab is too big to share. But simply clicking the yellow minimize button in the titlebar actions moves the attachment to Stage Manager where it cannot be brought back until a complete Cmd+Q termination of the app. It cannot be clicked on to expand back into view, cannot be click-and-dragged back into view, and is absent in Mission Control. Pressing escape can make it disappear, but opening subsequent media, or the same media, sends it right to Stage Manager and is still trapped until termination.
