Sydney and Melbourne are missing; Canberra too.
This is likely unrelated to wttr.in itself but, perhaps, the underlying geocoding service.
But the summary is that Sydney exists in text-mode whereas Melbourne does not. But Melbourne exists in graphics mode but Sydney does not! Canberra seems to follow Melbourne.

There has been an outage for few days. Some cities and countries may have problems.
It appears the outage is still on-going. Although it is odd that the outage affects only some cities and not others.
yup I too cant get anything for Melb. In fact ,I cant get anything for anywhere now.. odd
There were a couple of outages in the last time, but now it works. Please test
@chubin Works now, thank you 👍🏽
Melbourne and Canberra are working fine now.
Sydney is still problematic.

I have never seen sydney.sxl work @chubin - I think it failing is unrelated to any outage
@akumria just tested, Sydney works fine..
@drewauff very strange:
Just re-tested, still not working for me.

I wonder which host you get routed to?
I suppose that the problem here that for the v3 (because it was conceived as a region-based reporting service) you should use NSW
instead of Sydney
. Of course you may see it as a bug, but in this case it is at least clear what is the problem here
@chubin confirmed that using NSW works for me; but it isn't clear, to me, what the problem is.
Why would some people see Sydney working, and others not?
As an analogy, if @drewauff could specify Munich (Sydney) but I had to specify Bavaria (NSW) that would be a bug IMO.
@akumria fun fact, it worked just the one time I tried it yesterday, after that nope nada..so yeah..a bug? sounds like it.
Why would some people see Sydney working, and others not?
I am not sure that /Sydney
works for anybody. From the screenshot above it is not clear,
was query was used.
It seems to be a bug indeed; it should work like that: for regions it show regions; for locations, it shows the regions the locations belong to. E.g. http://v3.wttr.in/Riverina
Something is strange with Sydney. v3.wttr.in is highly exprimental anyway, and there are some bugs there
