Setting initial zoom of forceNetwork

Thanks for a truly great package,

I was wondering if there was any way of setting the initial zoom of a networkD3 forceNetwork plot? Zooming via the mouse works perfectly, but it would really useful to set a start zoom at the function call.

Agree. linkDistance can be used to increase separation between points, but it is not sufficient as the text size will not change.

Any updates on this? Maybe there is a way of doing it with the customJS function?

Effectively, this package is not being maintained. I believe that I'm the only one really paying attention to issues here and on StackOverflow, and I do not have permission to merge changes. And my interest in providing workaround hacks via htmlwidgets::onRender() is seriously waning. I began work on a successor to this package that tries to replicate most of the functionality of {networkD3} but with substantial improvements to the API and functionality, but it's still in a very alpha state.

Thank you very much, @cjyetman ! This package is really usefull when it comes to interactive network graphs, and I believe it is one of the very few options to everyone who wants to create interactive R visuals in power bi. I'll be watching closely your new package! Looking forward to using it
