Hey I am actually in dire need of this API for an upcoming project in the latest version, have you been able to find a replacement for createTag?

Sorry, no, this project hasn't been in development for a long time. I'm sure there's ways to work around this problem but depending on your solution, you're probably better off finding an alternative solution.
