Mosaic: generalize to different tilings / grid types?

would it be possible to generalize Mosaic from Square tiling to, for example, the varied choice of tiling or "grid type" options available in Loopy? for example, Snub-Square tiling and Cairo tiling.

if so, i would guess that tiling code could be shared between the games.
