At that time I have to resort to trial and error, ofc this has a big chance to result in error. Thereafter I have to undo up to the point where everything was still correct. My feature idea: Add a button to lock the current state. Thereafter the undo button cannot go back before this state. And/Or The locked user changes become a different 'color' so that there is a clear difference.
