Wont connect to https://github.com/janoside/btc-rpc-explorer/issues

I am trying to use this software as an electrum server for the above mentioned blockchain explorer...

But it can't connect. I have raised this on the explorer git hub issues too - I don't now which bit isn't working/why....

A local electrum walled connects fine, but when the blockchain explorer tries to connect it gives...
