Hidraw can't find the controller with steam open.

I seem to be having an issue where with steam open ds4d4v cannot discover the controller (using USB) and gets stuck at "Scanning for devices". However when i close steam and replug the controller it shows up immediately, open Steam and it disconnects again. I have DS4 controller support disabled in steam.

You will have to disable PS4 Controller support in Steam. Steam -> Enter Big Picture Mode -> Settings (Cog icon)-> Controller Settings -> Uncheck PS4 Support

I have the same issue. DS4 controller support disabled in steam, ds4drv will not connect to the device while steam is on.

Debian 9.
