ChocolateyGUI - Add Ability to Install/Upgrade Dependent Packages from Other Sources

Open ryanrichter94 opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Description

Currently within Chocolatey GUI several customers have asked to be able to setup a self-service source that hosts just the base/friendly package names of software their users will be installing. With this they would like the ability to host the dependent packages for these base software packages on a different source.

Currently with Chocolatey GUI you can only install packages that are fully housed with their dependent packages also in the same repo. Chocolatey GUI appends a source to the install/upgrade command that is passed. This thus not allowing for a cleaner separation of base packages and their dependencies being hosted between repos.

@steviecoaster was there a reason that this was moved to the Chocolatey GUI repository? This feels like something that would be handled in the Chocolatey GUI Licensed Extension.
