Log in sync older installs for a fresh batch installation (list)
This would require some expertise with software engineering and also messing with Choco's servers. The job should be very tiresome, so I don't expect this any time soon (less than 1 year or so).
Just dropping by to share this idea for future purposes.
Example scenario:
- Batch install (selection) items (not available yet, but I'm believing this should be implemented along with #12);
- After (or while) installing, offer to the user to log in to account to sync items (like an install [editable] history or wishlist [I.e. Google Play Store]) or create a new batch list;
- If the HDD ever gets dead, the list will be saved on the cloud. So you could just install Windows on a new HDD (ofc), grab ChocolateyGUI back, log in to the account again and quickly select the wishlist (be able to select all, one or several custom items from the list), then the software could get installed again quickly, without further hassles.
I think that's it. Sorry if this is a sort of duplicate, you can point them in other issues if you want.
The more simple and intuitive you do, the more users will be able to have ease of use. I know you guys are fan of CLI, but somehow I'm just a common layman GUI (visual elements) guy. As soon as you get cool features (like this one) implemented, I'll be able to use choco without much trouble.
Obs.: I know the power features are hidden in CLI, but I'll stick to the GUI at this time. Thank you.
is anyone working on it? its a great idea
