yeah, that is very high. One way of reducing velocity error is to introduce reduced basis for velocity field as well, which we do not do for this nonlinear elasticity...

Oh, I missed that. Maybe we are indeed using velocity basis for nonlinear elasticity examples. I think that @axla-io implemented both. Not sure which one is being run currently.

It would be nice to include regression test for this example.

These are good resources. You may want to check out S-OPT paper as well because S-OPT improves the current state-of-the-art hyper-reduction technique, i.e., DEIM. See this paper ( https://arxiv.org/abs/2203.16494 )
