name collision
It seems there is a another project already using the name "mako".
I don't use wayland, and plan to avoid using it for as long as humanly possible so I personally don't care, but it does present a challenge to package maintainers.
Judging by their man pages, we can avoid colliding with them for the most part by renaming mako
to mako-cli
and moving ~/.mako
to ~/.makod
.
We could also rename the project itself, probably to some other FF terminology (how about atma?).
I was going to mention this to you! I was thinking something like mako-btc
for a package name and mako-cli
for bin could be sufficient. A name change would also do it, and the earlier the better.
EDIT: I'm also assuming the handshake client will have a similar but different name
I have a PKGBUILD ready for the AUR, for when you decide what to do about the name. Also, you might want to do a v0.0.0
tag or something so we have a canonical version system.
Thumb up to rename atma everything.
Something about Atma feels epic. Also similar sounding to Ultima weapon and is spiritually similar. Leaves other FF ultimate summons/boss names available for alternate protocol implementations.

I was able to get this to run on iOS https://twitter.com/randymcmillan/status/1592814979333656576?s=21&t=zuyS94vRYpXZ_3urvx_4wA
no poignant pitch, no ACK...
