"JSON readtable error 60" after entering the AUTH code

After entering the AUTH code from the URL after logging in after issuing spot4e-authorize as described in the steps in README, Emacs tells me: "Contacting host: accounts.spotify.com:443 helm-M-x: JSON readtable error: 60" Happens on macos and manjaro linux in GUI Emacs 26.3 (spacemacs config). Happened contacting Spotify from Netherlands.

Same here, connecting from France. Some info on this would be highly appreciated :-) The function raising this error is spot4e-refresh.
