How to convert .md to .jira file?

Hey there, I got an .md - file opened within visual studio code. Verified the .md code with the build - in preview. If I'm trying to use the 'Convert Markdown to JIRA' command from the command palette, nothing happens. What are the necessary steps to convert my open and directly shown .md - file to a .jira - file?

Hit ctrl + p -> type ">Convert Markdown to JIRA" -> Vscode opens a new file with the jirafied version of the markdown
