It is hard to list all the most famous poems, but it would be a good idea to list the most famous poets. You can find them according to the dynasties they live in. Besides, translation is really a professional thing, and in my opinion, there is no person but the translators can enjoy the beauty of both types of poems, hhh.

If you really love Chinese culture, you should learn Chinese. It's like the Chinese learning English in order to study Shakespeare. Between huge cultural differences, translation always results in loss of information. The translation of ancient Chinese poetry into modern vernacular text will result in huge information loss, not to mention English.
