Preboarding based on time before startdate?

Thank you for a great tool, I am trying to implement it but have run in to some questions for my specific use case.
In the sequence I want to send messages and preboarding items and tasks to the new user on multiple occasions before their start date. This should be sent to the users private e-mail. In my testing it seems that pre-boarding items are only allowed in the "Without any trigger - assign directly" block and the other blocks will only send e-mails to the email set on the user profile and not to the e-mail used for the preboarding e-mails.
Is there any way to send timed messages and tasks before start date to the preboarding e-mail address or would that require changes in the system?

This is currently not possible unfortunately. I do think this is a good idea though.
Would adding a difference between start date / contract signed data work for initializing? I can take a look, i work in shipping, and also want new crew to read some stuff before they on board (if i understood the question correctly)
I think having 2 options for before/after in regards to onboading/offboarding isn't that useful especially for enterprise users. It should just be 'Before/After' with the ability to chose 'Before' or 'After' so you can state if it's day of, before or after for onboarding/offboarding.
In our case, for example, we present job offers 14 days before hiring with background checks, drug checks, forms for them to fill out (extrenal as this tool doesn' do complex enough forms), from day 14 to day 3 prior to starting.
Then day before we send reminders about their upcomig day of onboarding with instructions,
Then day of, they get instructions on the agenda for the day
Then 3 days after we check in with their insurane information
Then 5 days after, we check in with their benefit information
Then 90 days after, we let them know about the end of any of thir waiting periods and congrat them for making it to their probationary period
Then 180 days after, we send another congras and remind them about annual performance reviews.
So that's lots of before, during and after stuff.
For offboarding, it's important we have the same:
5 days prior, prep for meeting with manager and Hr 3 days prior, prep for offboarding 2 days prior, appointments; with IT and HR 1 day prior, appointments with manager and handing off of job tasks Day of, turn in computer (if in office and not remote worker), final meeting with hr, and goodbye party if needed 3 days later (if remote), request computer back 5 days later (if remote), not have computer? requet again, stronger warning 7 days later (if remote) advise we have sent box to colelct the computer if not recieved yet 14 days later (if not received), final demand
So, If i were to make any suggestion it would be to update your onboarding/offboarding sequences such that the before/after is a single line item, with a before/after option IN IT, so that we can set it to before, day of, or after, regardless of type.
