plugin not fully functioning, any dependencies/known issues/etc?
Discussed in https://github.com/chhoumann/quickadd/discussions/83
Originally posted by lobosaid-g August 19, 2021 This is a really interesting plugin, however, for me, it only works with one combination, i.e., when I have 'Capture to active file' and 'Write to the bottom of the file' enabled. If I enable any other option, the capture doesn't work (I can input data but it just doesn't do anything). So, I was wondering, is there any requirement or something else that might be interfering with the plugin?
Thanks!
So, I did some digging/investigation and the error I'm getting is:
QuickAdd: (LOG) TypeError: Cannot read property 'parse_template' of undefined
Hence, there is some issue between this plugin and Templater, I just disable the Templater and this plugin is working fine, I will check further in order to make these two plugins work together...
This plugin has so much potential, but with 48 issues and counting development on it appears to have halted. Anyone know what the plans are for supporting this plugin, or would it be best if we just uninstalled it?
@lobosaid-g Templater was recently updated, and as such, I updated how they work together. Does it work for you now? Otherwise, I'd like some more information - steps to recreate, error messages, etc.
@swehba Plugin development hasn't halted - the last release was 14 days ago. Most breaking bugs are fixed within a day; this one being an exception because I haven't been able to recreate it. Most of the issues here are feature requests, some of which I have left open just so I remember then, even if they aren't a priority now. I addressed this a while ago on the OMG Discord, but of course, that message isn't available everywhere: I have a limited amount of time each week to develop. I do what I can, and hope people can be patient. I developed the plugin during an off-period, so I could do new releases multiple times a day. I can't do that now, unfortunately.
@chhoumann I appreciate the work you have done, and completely understand priorities. I guess what I'm trying to say — and admittedly doing a poor job of it — is that perhaps it would be better to release a plugin with fewer features and fewer issues and then to incrementally add features. In any event, thank you for what you have created. I look forward to the plugin's evolution as your time permits. Cheers.
@chhoumann forgot to reply back on your latest comment... so, yes, this was due to an issue not using the updated version of templater
