Cannot get switch to show images

I originally thought: "I won't need a tool to send images to the switch", of course, this is nintendo we're talking about. The tool seems to finish converting the image fine, but the switch refuses to add it to the gallery. A few notes:

1. Renaming a normal image file to an existing one the switch has causes it to throw "the data could not be read"
2. Renaming one of the tools generated images to an existing switch image does not work, it doesn't even show "the data could not be read"
3. None of the images I've generated have worked so far
4. I am using exFAT, I'm re-formatting the card now, just in case

A little bit late, but have you tried compressing the original image's quality? That's how I was able to get mine to display properly.
