The change in calibredb-utils.el in commit a9588db8166547592cff4f058a5125469646c7a8 broke the preview functionality here. It works fine here without the if statement. So I hope you can fix the 'calibredb-show-results can not work' issue in a different way? (I did not encounter such issue yet, so it is hard to trace for me).
