"Stop the machine" in server upgrade doc

There's weird usage of "machine" to mean "server software" at http://docs.chef.io/upgrade_server.html

The upgrade process will require downtime equal to the amount of time it takes to stop the machine, run dpkg or RPM Package Manager, and then upgrade the machine.

Again at Step 3: "Stop the machine:"

There's no need to "stop the machine" to upgrade to Chef Server 12.
