Komorebi is not opening in Linux 2020.3

Komorebi 2.1 is successfully installed in my system but whenever I try to open it, Loader appears then disappears but the application is not opening.

Here is some useful information:

Can you try with our v2.2.1 fork please, to see if it still happens?

I have the same issue, doesn't work with v2.2.1

It is also running on the background, but doesn't launch.

@Jimmysit0 what distro are you running on?

@Jimmysit0 what distro are you running on?

I'm using an arch based distro (Endeavour)

@Jimmysit0 @Kangie im having the exact same issue where it loads in for like a mili second then disappears. im running the debian based distro MX linux. im wondering if it might have to do with the desktop environment im using XFCE

unsatisfactory212 avatar Nov 26 '20 07:11 unsatisfactory212

I use komorebi with XFCE so that's unlikely to be it.

Kangie avatar Nov 26 '20 07:11 Kangie

okay, do you have any ideas what it might be then ?

unsatisfactory212 avatar Nov 26 '20 07:11 unsatisfactory212

Not yet. I can't replicate the issue myself!

I'll try and look into it when I have some free time, but that might be a little while.

Could one of you please post the error from a current version of komorebi? It'll be easier to track down if the lines have moved around since we forked!

It looks like an icon thing, maybe? Based on the error message that is!

So, I took a quick look at the code. There's nothing obviously wrong jumping out at me.

I suspect that it's failing to grab an icon for something on your desktop and that causes it to crash when it tries to draw the icons/widgets over the background. To confirm that, would you be able to remove everything from your desktop (just move it to another directory temporarily)?

If komorebi works, I think I know where the bug is.

I removed everything from the desktop in ubuntu 20.10, still doesn't work, please fix it, I miss using komorebi

Please don't use another issue to report your problem, especially if it is unrelated; always open another issue for your problem.

just a heads um i disabled my second second monitor after reading another issue and it works for me now, also if it helps in anyway i reconnected my monitor after it was launched and it now works on both (im guessing it has to do with the way komorebi launches ?) also i forgot to mention that when i reconnected it the monitors where mirroring each other to begin with and once i reverted them back to being two separate displays komorebi although still working was only covering one full display and half of the other (sorry for all the edits)
