This is a known issue with MIME type associations; until it's fixed, you can use the workaround explained at #40

I've opened a new PR at https://github.com/Komorebi-Fork/komorebi/pull/20 that should hopefully fix the launching apps problems; about not being able to rename files, the desktop functionality will need a overhaul, as it's lacking a lot of regular features anyways.
