Can't block account with redirect notice

Open graue opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Phanpy won't let me block, mute, or report an account with a redirect notice on it, and does not show that the account is following me.

  • Which site: phanpy.social
  • Which site version: 2024.03.26.8fc5e10
  • Which instance: an instance running v4.0.15+hometown-1.1.1

To Reproduce

  1. Go to a profile with a redirect notice on it ("(NAME) has indicated that their new account is now: ...")
  2. Click on '...' in the lower right of the header
  3. See no option to block, mute or report, and no "Follows you" badge even if seen on Mastodon web

Expected behavior Options to block, mute or report should be there. And if the account is following me, "Follows you" should be shown.

Desktop

  • OS: Linux
  • Browser: Firefox
  • Version: 123.0.1

Additional context Why do I want to do this? Well, maybe it's a bit paranoid, but when an account is redirected, it stays active as a follower, and can be restored as an active account at any point in the future. So as a security thing, when I notice that someone following me has moved, I soft-block their old account (block then unblock) to remove it as a follower so that their server admin or anyone who later compromises their old, likely to be forgotten, account can't see my follower-only posts.

In theory, a harasser could also redirect and then unredirect accounts as an abuse vector.
