[Feature Request] Taking action from another account
I have two accounts, and sometimes I encounter a post from one account that I would like to reply to / boost / bookmark from the other account. Currently, the workflow for that looks like this: copy the link > change the account > search > take action > change the account back. I lose my position in the Home timeline in the process. Is it possible to implement an option to open a post from another account to do the action, and then get back to where I was when I close the post?
@onnyyonn question, curious to know if you're performing these steps on mobile or desktop? Thanks.
I use Phanpy on mobile most of the time.
Came here to propose this same feature. It would particularly useful when the alt account is on a smaller instance with a smaller view of the fediverse.
This is related to #364
Same here, would love to like/boost/comment from another account. That could be in a menu (two/three clicks more) or through a "default interaction account" (not that flexible) or an "active interaction account" (sengi does this well)
UI ideas:
📱 On mobile I’d suggest that a long touch on the like/boost/comment/bookmark button would trigger a choice of instance from which to perform that action (or skip it and just perform it from the other instance if the user has only two). This is how it is done in Fedilab and I like it a lot.
🖥️ On desktop With a mouse I’d suggest something similar with hover or a long click (maybe both, and let the user choose what they prefer?). With a keyboard maybe shift+l/f. shift+r and shift+b are already taken.
For UI ideas, my recommendation would be checking out what Moshidon does. It has a "open with other accounts" option, which is simple and effective.
I’d love to help testing this feature when it’s ready for testing 🙂
