Feature suggestion: carousel for followed hashtag posts
I just discovered Phanpy, and I really like the boost carousel feature. Because boosts are one step removed from content that I have specifically selected to follow, I like that they are slightly de-emphasized and separated from the other content in the timeline (but are still easy to browse, in a way that makes good use of the horizontal space on the page).
Some of the hashtags that I follow are popular enough to add a lot of noise to my feed. It would be great if posts that are in my timeline because of a followed hashtag were aggregated and visually distinguished in a similar way. Since boosts are not grouped by booster, I guess that it wouldn't be necessary to group hashtag posts per specific hashtag either: posts from different hashtags could be combined in the same carousel.
A followup: this feature would be even more useful to me in my Pixelfed account timeline.
I haven't been using Pixelfed for long, but so far it seems that Pixelfed users don't boost posts as much as Mastodon users (and I tend to follow mostly other Pixelfed accounts and image-heavy or image-only Mastodon accounts from my Pixelfed account). This makes discovery of new accounts to follow organically through boosts much harder than on Mastodon, which means that I've followed many more tags than I have in my Mastodon account. That in turn means that a much larger portion of my timeline is taken up by tags.
