Add an option to keep emoji size (similar to font size setting)

Open sphinx18079 opened this issue 2 months ago • 7 comments

Problem I have

It would be great to have an option to keep the emoji size, similar to how we can choose a font size. Currently, I have to manually adjust the emoji size every time I use them, which is inconvenient.

Solution I'd like

Add a setting to maintain emoji size.

This could work like a font size option, so users can choose whether to keep emojis at their original size or adjust them once globally.

@sphinx18079 are you referring to the zoom in/out option in the custom emoji picker? Or… something else?

Thank you for your reply! I may not have explained it well (I’m using a translator).

What I mean is that I hope custom emojis can stay at the size I set, instead of reverting back to the default size every time I exit.

@sphinx18079 I guess a screenshot would be useful 😁

Are you referring to this? Image

yes,what I mean is that I’d like the emojis to remain at the size I set, instead of reverting back.

Wow, thanks to this issue I found out that there's a zoom function for the emoji! That's great!

I agree with @sphinx18079 -- it would be good for there to be a persistent setting for the default size. I find them way too small at the current default.

This has allowed me to create a workaround user style which makes the size stick:

#custom-emojis-sheet {
    --custom-emoji-size: 2 ! important;
}

That's the largest that the zoom tool can make them, but you can put in bigger numbers!

@sphinx18079 to use this workaround you need to install a browser extension for applying user stylesheets, like Stylus.
