Iphone SE doesn't enter dfu mode

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? Iphone SE (1.gen)
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 14.7.1
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.3
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? macos monterey
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB-C

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. I started jailbreak my device and the phone is doesn't enter dfu mode

What do you expect, and what is happening instead?

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? no

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? no

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...? no

I had this same issue some times back, where everything worked great till recovery mode window in checkra1n (on Mac Monterey). Then the checkra1n gui window shows step to get into DFU mode but everytime during those steps (4-5 seconds side button + vol down and then 10 seconds vol. down button), my device never entered DFU mode and would simply reboot and checkra1n gui would show "Failed to enter DFU mode".

Solution: (Its really silly) - Use USB-A cable instead of USB-C. :-| This actually worked and I was able to enter DFU mode and checkra1n process further got initiated.
