Expliot Failed (-31) after many tries

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPhone 6s
  2. On what version of iOS is it? iOS 14.7.1 (claimed unsupported, but it worked originally)
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.4 GUI (Note: TUI worked with --force-restore)
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? macOS 11.5.1 13" Mid-2012 MBP
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? Apple USB-A Cable

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Run checkra1n GUI with Safe Boot (and Allow Untested since it hasn't been updated for a while even though it works fine normally)
  2. Enter DFU mode from recovery
  3. See that it stays in DFU and fails at Right before trigger with Exploit Failed -31

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? It keeps going and boots the device into safe mode.

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? No

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? I'm going to reverse this and say that this doesn't happen with Safe Mode unticked. Instead I get a black screen of nothingness after the checkra1n + apple logo thing goes away.
