Open heroskyline opened this issue 3 years ago • 8 comments

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPhone 7 Plus
  2. On what version of iOS is it? iOS 14.2
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.1
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? MBP 2015, macOS Catalina 10.15.7
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB-A, 3rd Party Cable, Direct connect. What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
  6. After entering DFU mode,
  7. Device start restart to install jabilbreak
  8. But it reboot into normal mode and display "Error booting device (Error code: -12)" on Chekra1n windows ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? It's should be complete the installation and boot to jailbreaked with Checkra1n app in device. But it boot into normal mode with display "iPhone 7 Plus (Global) (iOS 14.2) connected in Normal mode." on Chekra1n windows.

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? Yes, the same in Safe Mode

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?

Same error here. Tried on MBP 2017 on Big Sur with USB C to lightning cable and on Lenovo Thinkpad W530 on Ubuntu 20.04.1 with USB A to micro to lightning adapter (don't judge, I can't find the A to lightning cable I tried a week or two ago!).

Error message on device says SEPOS patch failed: BPR is set

58C1803A-AAA7-44FA-A5A8-F3470D8FCA9E

Then it reboots into normal mode.

Also tried in CLI mode, safe mode, everything. Tried removing device passcode.

edit: to be more pacific, this is an unlocked Sprint model iPhone 7 Plus 14.2

any fix for this yet? 0.12.2 produces the same issue for me

To anyone else struggling with this, I found, interestingly enough, that wiping my phone seemed to resolve the issue. It may have something to do with either a failed secure enclave authentication, or with the USB accessories being disabled.
