Tweaks don't function after rejailbreaking device but are 'saved' in the Cydia app

Open hokd2905 opened this issue 5 years ago • 8 comments

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPhone 7
  2. On what version of iOS is it? ios 13.4.1
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.10.1 beta
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Linux
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB-A Official apple cable

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Jailbreak device
  2. Download Tweaks 3.Restart iPhone 4.Rejailbreak iPhone
  3. Open Cydia to find your tweaks there but not functioning

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? The tweaks are meant to function but they are just there and they don't work

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? Yes

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...? image

@hokd2905

I don’t mind trying to help, but know the Mods may shut down the tread, as they will say it’s not a Checkra1n issue.

First things first I suggest you check your settings, do you see the tweak config? If not you need to check Cydia for PreferenceLoader repo http://rpetri.ch/repo/ make sure this is the ONLY repo you get it from. If you have it, but from a different source it may be a tweak you have installed interfering. I had that as an issue to begin. You may have to uninstall tweaks to find out.

I have PreferenceLoader installed from that repo. My tweaks are there whenever I rejailbreak it's just that they don't function, they are just in the installed section.

Ok you said “my tweaks are there” are you talking about in Cydia or iPhone settings? Check your iPhone settings and see if Preferenceloader is working there. If it’s working properly you will have the configuration setting along side the regular apple settings. It sounds like there’s a conflict within your tweaks.

The tweaks are only visible in Cydia and do not function or appear in settings. Preference loader is installed))

Ok, I understand. So I have a few things to try, we will go one by one and see if one helps. First one add repo

https://ib-soft.net/cydia/

Download iCleaner Pro.

Open iCleaner Pro, on the bottom left click the +. Click Cydia Substrate Addons. At the top click All, hit Apply. And yes to respiring.

What that is going to do is disable all tweaks. Now open iCleaner Pro again, click the +, click Cydia Substrate Addons. Turn one on. Hit apply, yes to respring. Check your settings app to see if there is any thing there. Repeat the process and see if it’s a tweak that is causing it.

I had the problem and found that was one of the issues.

I had the same problem recently (SE 1st gen. iOS 12.1.3), got it fixed by installing Substitute and removing Cydia Substrate.
