Without Firebase
Any plans to have fully independent database instead of firebase? I liked your product , but it does not appeal to me to be used , just because of it.
Hi @gelinger777 , Thanks for your post. We have this on our radar, as you are not the first one to ask. May I ask what your favorite alternatives would be, and what features they should expose ?
@Pascal-Delange hi, as you deal mostly with time series data and the speed is crutially important i would choose InfluxDB 3.0 as a basis for storing and analyising data . OSS version of v3 which is 45x faster is coming very soon, but available for development and cloud . As they have OSS Free Model , your customers will not need to pay extra for using it. Plus it has tons of ingestion features , speed etc. I would be loving to use your product in our company in that case. Firebase makes it quite scary to be honest.
I think there is a misunderstanding. At Marble, we only use Firebase for Authentication (not storage). By reading your issue, we missed the "database" part (since we do have internal discussion for making the product agnostic or at least independant from Firebase auth).
tl;dr: we do not rely on Firebase for storage
Hi Folks!
An alternatve is to implement Oauth 2.0, so we can use any service avail in market, including Auth0, Keycloack ando so on....
Yeah i support @Wosniak 's offer.
I also want to implement login and email sending via SMTP configuration, without using Firebase. (It doesn’t matter whether the SMTP settings are managed via env, config, or GUI.) Additionally, I hope that MFA features such as email OTP authentication or Google OTP authentication can be enabled from the GUI. If this is possible, I believe Marble could be used even in closed environments without external network access.
Please consider this request!
Hi, We are finally getting close to this. Marble (with license) will be compatible with any IDP provided supporting OIDC for authentication, in the next month or two.
Hi, It's available now, so I'm closing the issue ! See the doc
