Unable to add WhatsApp channel
Describe the bug
I am using Chatwoot v2.18.0 Docker Image.
I am facing a problem while adding WhatsApp Channel with following message
“We were not able to save the WhatsApp channel”.
While checking the documentation i could see an additional field named “Webhook Verify Token” in documentation but not in my instance.
i have even tried another instance with cwctl v2.18.0. but same outcome. Found “422 Unprocessable Entity” in logs
Could you please let me know how to proceed?
To Reproduce
-
In Inboxes -> Select "Add Inbox"

-
Select "API Provider" as WhatsApp Cloud This form is not having additional field "Webhook Verify Token" after the field "API Key" as in documentation https://www.chatwoot.com/docs/product/channels/whatsapp/whatsapp-cloud

Fill in the details and Apply "Create WhatsApp Channel" will result in toast message “We were not able to save the WhatsApp channel”.

we are also facing the same issue.
Issue faced by me was due to one reason: Access Token generated by me was not having required premissions (select all permissions while generating Access Token). To start with use the Temporary access token from WhatsApp dashboard. Once after setting up Inbox Chatwoot has option to update Access Token with generated one.
I was confused due to the message "We were not able to save the WhatsApp channel" and outdated user guide with additional field. This distracted me from actual issue.
@binnypthomas Thanks for creating the issue and the follow up. We will get the documentation updated. Moving this to the docs repo.
Hello team,
i have installed the community version of chatwoot from docker. I am unable to create whatsapp channel.
I’m getting the same error. Was anyone able to resolve this??
