Sidebar refreshes upon reopening

Summary Bing Chat refreshes when the sidebar is hidden and reopened by clicking the extension icon.

Environment

  • Browser: Brave beta (Version 1.60.88 Chromium: 118.0.5993.70)
  • OS: macOS 14.0
  • Device: M1 Pro Macbook Pro 14 inch

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the browser and click the extension icon to open Bing Chat on the Sidebar.
  2. Click the same icon again to close the sidebar.
  3. Click the icon once again.

Expected Result The chat session and content should be kept upon reopening.

Actual Result A new session is created upon reopening, and the chat session and content are not retained.

That's true. When closing the panel, Chrome destroys the page.
