Help: sort keywords into pre-defined topics / categories

Thanks for this very useful library (& the porting onto spacy 2.0!).

I'm playing with the various keyword extraction functions. I wonder on the best strategy to further whittle down the keywords on the basis of pre-defined categories or topics.

Topic modelling is not of much help as the topics may often not be useful representatives of the documents in the corpus (e.g. with short text corpus etc.).

Any suggestion or academic article link is very welcome.
