Numbering on some dice not standard.

Open Taiine opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Just a heads up, the numbering on the D00, D6, D12, and D8 are not in the standard position. This was pointed out to me after showing some photos of masters I had finished and sure enough, comparing them to store bought standard dice, and some hand made from others the mentioned 4 dice have some numbers in the wrong position.

I've already corrected this on my end, but for your end here's the proper numbering placements. (and anyone else can easily apply this to fix it as well)

d00 ["90", "30", "50", "70", "10", "80", "40", "20", "00", "60"]

d6 ["1", "4", "5", "2", "3", "6"]

d12 ["1", "4", "2", "6", "8", "3", "10", "5", "11", "7", "12", "9"]

d8 ["1", "4", "7", "6", "2", "3", "5", "8"]

The numbering is fine. There are multiple ways to number the dice. According to this source there are two ways to number a d6 - one of those is currently used here and you just proposed the other.

Just going by what appears standard on every set of DnD dice I've seen and owned. As I know some people, and even set ups like adventures league (buddy DM's for one of their tables in his area, or use to before covid) can have issues to dice not following a set standard. Even if a math website says there's another way, rather go with whats widely accepted.
