New program icon
Currently this program simply uses my own avatar as its icon. However I freely admit that isn't the most attractive of images and was mostly drawn up in MS Paint by myself a few years back.
It would be great if someone with some artistic abilities could put something together that we could consider using as a replacement to the current icon.
The icon should:
- Feature a boat (obviously...)
- Possibly use similar colours to current ones?
- Or maybe use the colours inside of the program itself?
ARTISTS: feel free to post anything you put together in this issue and myself and the other followers of this project can let you know what we think!
I forgot to post this here before but legoguy501 on Bricks in Motion very kindly sent me in a new logo concept design a few weeks ago. He said I could post it here, so here it is! Any feedback would be appreciated.
That's a neat sketch! I like the boat, would make for a good program icon. @rioforce Any feedback/ideas here?
Had some free time so a gave this issue a shot.
Just played around with the old logo - trying to give a fresh look without throwing away the original boat design. Here is what I came up with:
Due to the white background the right part of the image can't be displayed nicely so here is a screenshot of the icon for you to get the idea.
Again, just a concept I designed really quick 🙂
Firstly I do apologise @AndreasDemenagas I missed your comment before! I like the concept of your design although I would like to move away from the original boat drawing. I drew that boat many years ago and to be honest, it's not very good!
Today I received another logo suggestion by email and I really like it. I think the colours could be changed a little though would appreciate any suggestions
Idea: wonder what the logo above would look like embedded in a generic camera icon. Will try and make a mock up sometime.
Honestly, I like the current logo more than new ideas. It feels more original, and has nice colors. Also, the cartoony feel of the boat makes it different from other apps using simple icon packs and vectors.
Maybe it's better to improve the current one without changing it too much, instead of redesigning it from 0.

I'm excited about the new logo. "especially because the old one almost made me not investigate the program at all"
considering the nature of this program ,in my opinion, the logo shud imply power and elegance. A view looking up at the boat from in frount of the bow with simple colors for the boat. It would look even better if the lines of the icon followed the golden ratio.
but nomater what it looks like I'm excited.
